For the weekend of June 25th & 26th, we were fortunate to host Master Li De-Yin for his teaching of the complete Tai Chi 42 Posture International Competition Routine. Master Li is the chief compiler and examiner of the form, and he is known as one of the Greatest Living Martial Arts Treasures of China.
The form itself is a compilation of techniques from four different Tai Chi styles: Yang, Chen, Wu, and Sun. Master Li took care to explain the origins of each movement, as well as martial arts applications and differences between the correlating movements in different styles. Master Li spoke through his daughter and interpreter, Yue Li, with his wife Fang Mishou assisting in demonstration. Master Li's teaching style is gentle yet comprehensive, and with teaching us this new form, he has expanded our understanding of Tai Chi and given us a substantial advantage in competition.
